Emmanuel Adebayor has asked Italian giants Juventus to come and rescue him from the potential Manchester City wilderness.

The Togo front man endured a troubled season last term, including the fatal attack on the Togo team at the African Nations Cup.  Nonetheless, the 26-year-old still scored an impressive fourteen goals in 26 games for Manchester City .

However, City boss Roberto Mancini will come under pressure to send some players packing, given that he must announce a 25-man squad by September 1.  There is enormous competition in the Manchester City attack with the likes of Carlos Tevez , Craig Bellamy , Robinho and Roque Santa Cruz already on the books before the possible arrival of Mario Balotelli .

Talking to Turin-based daily Tuttosport, Adebayor said "Juventus are a great club in which I would like to play,

"Until some time ago I would not have accepted a transfer to other clubs. I wanted to wear the City shirt and have a better season compared to last year, but I know there will not be many chances for me and so I am considering the many offers I have received.

"I am sorry to leave the Premier League, but in Europe there are other top leagues."

I hope this isn't true cos him and Tevez are the ONLY 2 strikers at the club that the fans (I know)think MUST stay. Ship RSC, Robinho, (and it pains me to say) Craig Bellamy before even considering selling Ade. I don't beleive this quote for one second though, why no mention of Jo Silva on here either. In a 25 man squad you surely need 4 top strikers and Balotelli doesn't need to be included in this 25 man squad because he's under 21. All the PROPER fellow city fans I know want Ade next season cos if he had a 1 goal in 2 games record last season with all the problems he had, just imagine what he could do this year with a clear head and better service than he had last year. i disagree with u BluemmonE. I think adebayor is a lazy player and he never gave his full for city except against gunners and that was for a personal cause and not for city
